As we are slowly getting our little one’s room ready, you might start seeing a pattern. Our style is very much about repurposing, reusing and doing whatever we can ourselves. It’s not for everybody, but I hope you enjoy watching the process of our nursery come together!
While out and about, I spotted a few goodies I thought would be cute for the nursery, one of them being some fabulous vintage knit hangers. The lady selling them said when she was a young girl, she would sit and knit these hangers with her grandma. I thought it was so sweet! I loved the idea of these hangers having so much love tied to them!
I bought a few assorted patterns and colors, which dress up the baby’s closet quiet a bit. I can’t believe how ornate these hangers are, and how much time must have been spent on each one. I don’t knit, but I sure wish I did because they are just too cute! Now I can finally hang up the baby clothes, which makes it feel so much more real. We’re getting closer to having our nursery complete; soon all we will be missing is our sweet baby!
Are you opposed to finding used things for your nursery or do you prefer to buy all things new?

wow those are so cool! such a great find!
I love vintage and thrifted stuff, but we decided to go a different style with our nursery. We wanted bright, bold and somewhat modern. Even though throughout the rest of my house, nothing is modern!
The only thing we bought new for his room was his crib, like you! We repurposed the dresser from when I was little, found a changing table on craigslist and I DIYed much of the room. But it still has a bold fun color to it.
I joke with my husband, because the only furniture we have ever bought new was our mattress and rocking chair. Our couches, tables, tv stand, dining set – all were upcycled or craigslist finds!

Those are really cool! I’ve never seen anything like that before, even with all my obsessive pinning
I don’t think they’re actually knit as in knitting with needles, but are more like those knot friendship bracelets we’d make as kids. Do you know the ones I’m thinking of? They were round and you’d tie a knot with one strand around the whole group of them and then just keep going and switching colors by changing which strand to knot with as you went along.

Wow those are so cute! I have a few hangers that my great grandma made, but I think only 3. I used one of them to hang my dress on for my wedding pictures.
I’m all about getting used stuff for my LO. Most of her furniture is used, I feel like it’s so much better quality then new stuff!

I had a ton of those, they’re made by wrapping, not knitting.
I don’t recall how to make them though, too bad!

We could have a lot of fun at flea markets together!
@MRS. STROLLER I totally know what you’re talking about! I use to make them all the time, but now I can’t remember how to do it at all! So sad
