i only ever dreamed of my baby as a girl, and a girl she is! most of the wives’ tales pointed towards girl for me, but i’ve had TONS of people guess boy just by looking at me. i’m pregnant the same way i gain weight normally – mostly in my lower belly!

Most of the old wives’ tales and my dreams said girl, girl, girl! They were clearly wrong. Even reading the list now, I still fit more “girl” predictions than boys!

I started to go nuts around 34w not knowing too! Almost everything pointed to girl for me, but I had a dream about a boy really early on, so I’m saying boy for you. Plus your bump looks similar to mine. Boy.

Most old wives tales said boy and I had a boy!

I’m almost 34 weeks and I’m pretty evenly split with all the old wives tales too (also I love how some people swear it’s a boy because I’m carrying one way, but others swear it’s a girl because I’m carrying differently. Who knows at this point??). So looking forward to finding out!

Feral heart rate was right for us, both girls consistently around 155. Don’t forget the leg hair- if growth slows a lot it’s a girl. I barely had to shave my legs at all for the final trimester which was quite a relief as I was so flipping awkward!
We had a fortune teller (years ago) tell me I’d have non id twin girls, one looking like me the other like her father, with personality traits more or less the opposite of that. So far 6.5m she’s right on the money.

I didn’t know about some of these “predictors”–thanks for sharing!

I think yours is a girl! I didn’t have a feeling about mine/was too scared to jinx it, but I’m thankful it’s a girl!

Almost every single one of those pointed me to a girl, and that is definitely what we r having!

A lot of these “tests” didn’t apply to my pregnancy since I was carrying triplets, but…

I correctly predicted their genders based on heart rates. DD was always very high and DSs were much lower.

Craving meat=boy, craving fruit=Girl. Apparently, craving bacon cheeseburgers with strawberry shakes = 2 boys and a girl!

Never tried this one, but liked it. I had a co-worker from Central America who told me about their tradition. Wrap of a spoon in a piece of cloth and a knife in another. Have someone place them on separate chairs and then have Mom take a seat. Sitting on the knife = boy (hunter). Sitting on the spoon = Girl (cook, nurturer).

Can people tell you are pregnant from behind? Yes = girl. No = boy. No one could tell I was pregnant and I had boys both times and I was pointy until the last few weeks when I dropped with my second. First was breech so he was always high and pointy. Also, I didn’t gain that much weight (30 with first and 20 with second) so I guess that’s part of the reason.
