Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 12th, so in this edition of the Swarm, the Bees share what they’d like for Mother’s Day!

I already purchased a fun rose gold watch as a “Happy Mother’s Day to me” gift about a month ago, so I’m already enjoying that. I’m looking forward to whatever Wagon Jr. creates at school (they do projects for every holiday), and a really fun, relaxing day with the whole family!

I’d love some R&R. I think a pedicure is tops on my list — maybe a double appointment with MY mom. I’m about to start dropping hints. Now to decide on a color….

I want a momcation!! Your post made me jealous.

I really want a massage – I haven’t had one since before I was pregnant. I’d also love a photobook with pictures of Liam. I’ve been meaning to make one myself with pictures from his first year, but if someone else did it, that would be nice!

I’ve been wanting a rose gold watch – I can’t remember the last time I owned a watch… must’ve been over 10 years ago, but I think it really pulls a whole look together, especially professionally!

Or a mom-cation!

I have had a watch on my wishlist for awhile, I would really like a braided leather one but they’re hard to find, but I do like this one from Fossil, and here is the braided one I like.

Some other things on my wishlist include: a Nikon 50mm lens, these amazing yellow wedges, a birthstone stacking ring with J’s birthstone, a TREK bike so we can have family bike rides this summer, and lastly, a camera messenger bag.

We don’t do gifts for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day… I wasn’t raised recognizing them, then going through the whole adoption process, other days became more important to us than those. (The most important one being “Spencer Day,” which is the day our Mini Michelangelo joined us.) That said… I love the little plants and cards that come home from preschool! Especially if they have handprints on them!

And just in case I gave the impression I am above gifts… I’m totally not. Our anniversary is usually the same weekend and my birthday is less than two weeks later. I get plenty of loot in May.

I want the kids to have their silhouettes done at Disneyland. They can do them either stacked as an entire family, or have each one with a silhouette of their favorite character stacked behind them. I think I want an individual one for each kid.

I also just want some time (not when the kids are in bed) to work on a photo book. I do a Shutterfly book at the end of each year and 2012 has yet to be completed. I would love to have some time on a couple of days to put ours together and get it ordered the next time I get a big coupon.

I’m getting plane tickets to visit my buddies @mrs. wagon and @Mrs. Paintbrush! Our budget’s been super tight this year with me going to work part time (but SO worth it), so I’m using Mother’s Day as an excuse to finally buy plane tickets to visit dear friends in Beantown. I’ll probably also buy some cute shorts, too (so necessary for chasing around CB during the summer!). I’ve got my eye on this one and this one  (in the navy) from Target.

Breakfast out at a local cafe/coffee shop with just the three of us, then some time hanging out solo at a coffee shop relaxing and reading a book by myself, followed by a manicure! And, if the weather is nice, some time with Miss H at the park!

I would love a delicious cup of coffee and a massage or mani/pedi!

I also love earrings from Anthropologie, so this one and this one are some of my picks.

We tend to skip gifts for hallmark holidays, only really exchanging at big birthdays and our anniversary. Most often, we do fancy dinners instead. Mr. C is in charge of making reservations for this one, so it will likely be a surprise for me.

For Mother’s Day weekend, I have an all-day photography class (Lightroom 101) scheduled for Saturday, so Mr. C is going to watch Little C allllllll day. It’s a full day off for me.

And on the Sunday of Mother’s Day itself, I just want to stay in bed for the early shift with Little C, and then have lots of quality family time that day. And perhaps a pedicure during Little C’s afternoon nap.

I would like to get the “tuition money” for a summer enrichment class, either for myself or for Scribble and me. Either a pottery class for myself or a swimming or music class for us both! Something to do in the summer while I’m not teaching.

I originally wanted an in-depth photography class to help improve my skills with my DSLR or a new lens to take better portrait photos… but sadly our camera was stolen out of our car this week.

So now, obviously, I would like a new camera! I’m thinking the Canon EOS T4i.

For mother’s day this year we are celebrating Sienna’s 1st birthday so as much as I would love a gift, I doubt it will happen. I would be open to having a bouquet of peonies. They are my ultimate favorite bloom. Honestly though just a “Happy Mother’s Day” would be nice.

I actually am not really expecting a gift, since we’re doing so many house projects right now. But after reading some of these responses, I now really want a rose gold watch. Sorry, Mr. Chalk.

Otherwise, my hypothetical list is remarkably dull. I’d love to have a new set of wool dryer balls. (I know, right?!? Who asks for laundry supplies as a gift?? But I have one set of these, love them, and am tired of chasing them down from the toddler and/or cat.)

I also would like to have a simple new everyday necklace. Maybe this one?

We recently bought a Keurig machine, and so it would be fun to get a cheerful coffee mug for the mornings. Any suggestions, hive?

Am I the only one who has trouble coming up with gift ideas? I could easily name a dozen things I’d like to get for Owen and Eloise, but I really struggled to come up with a few ideas for myself.

My birthday is around Mother’s Day, and then we have Father’s Day and my husbands birthday, so we go low-key for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. There are way too many birthdays and holidays we celebrate over the summer!

For Mother’s Day, my husband makes crepes for breakfast. We go to a nursery and get plants (this year I think I want succulents!) and spend the afternoon outside planting and playing in the yard. We grill out, make dinner together, and relax. It’s the perfect day. We are usually so busy, so having the quiet family time is exactly what I want!

I don’t really need anything right now, but I do love gifts of time. Last year for Mother’s Day, Mr. S installed a closet organizing system in my tiny closet for me, which took an entire weekend including painting and putting my clothes back for me. I have a few “time” wishes right now, but we’re in the process of planning to put an addition on our house so I may need to ask for rain-check until the dust has settled.

This year Little M and I are going to be alone for Mother’s Day so I’ll be happy with good sleep and happy days!

For mother’s day I would really love to go to the Sioux Falls Zoo to see the Ugandan Orphan’s Choir sing! This time of year I always crave family time, because it’s in such short supply. The only way we can all go together is if we have bad weather, in which case the zoo will be not the greatest place for us to be anyhow, but a girl can dream. Ellie has a recording of some of their music and we all really love it.

I’ve wanted an initial necklace for Charlie and Olive forever, but there are so many options out there, I can’t decide which one! I do like the ones with charm style letters like this one from Zoe Chicco. I’d also love a photobook of my instagram pictures from Artifact Uprising, as well as a larger photobook of family pictures. But like Mrs. Tic Tac Toe, my ultimate mother’s day wish would be to have someone create all the layouts for me!

Finally I love going on adventures, but they are fewer and far between now that we have two kids. I would love to take a daytrip to do something fun in nature as a family, like fishing, a beach trip, or a picnic in the mountains! But I think we might head to the botanical gardens this weekend to catch the last of the cherry blossoms!

Now it’s your turn to tell us — what would you like for Mother’s Day?
