Half a year! I can’t believe how the past six months have flown by. And I have this cute little munchkin to show for it.

Stats:

She’s now gaining weight steadily but she’s still a little peanut. She wears size 2 Honest diapers, and a mix of 3-6 month and 6 month clothes.

Eating

Baby Markers is now 100% formula fed. My supply continued to dip until we were down to 1 feeding a day right after she turned 5 months. We slowly weaned from that feeding and she now takes 5 bottles a day, 6-8 oz each. She always has an 8oz bottle right before bed. We have also introduced solid foods! We’re doing a combination of purees and baby-led weaning. So far she has tried avocado, sweet potatoes, banana, nectarine, butternut squash, peas, salmon and apples.

Sleeping

Still doing great on this front – goes down at 8pm every night and wakes up around 7am each morning, almost without fail. She takes 3 naps a day, on average 1 – 1.5 hours each. She seems to love her crib now, and she’ll play quietly when she wakes up from naps – sometimes for 20 minutes or longer. Nap training for us made ALL the difference!

Development

We are officially on the move! It took all of month 5 to master it but she’s got crawling covered and sits up on her own. She’s not fast yet, but each day she seems more proficient than the last. This week she has even started to pull up on things! Much to my horror, since this inevitably ends in her falling and bumping her head. We’re working on babyproofing now that she’s showing interest in electrical cords and other baby-hazards.

We also started music class, which Baby Markers loves! She’s enthralled with her teacher, the “big kids” and all the fun toys and instruments.

No teeth yet! You’d think with the constant chewing on everything we’d see something soon… but not yet!

Likes: independent play, crawling to get her toys, our dog Abby, walks and runs in the stroller, swimming, pulling up (especially standing in the crib!), when dad gets home from work, music class, big kids, swinging at the park, looking in the mirror, peekaboo

Dislikes: being held for too long, long car rides, delayed naps, pureed peas

I know I say this every time, but this month has been my favorite!
