We woke up this morning and it actually felt like fall; a nice chilly fall. Not that freezing cold winter disguised as fall. Since it was summer all the way up until this morning, I haven’t even thought about pulling out fall clothes let alone shopping for them. I started searching around for fall coats so of course I thought I’d share. Here is a long list of some really great and timeless fall coats — essentials depending on your fall temps, and coats that won’t go out to style by the end of the season.
COOL: When the weather just starts to shift and you still sorta want to pretend it’s not going to be winter in a few short weeks. So we layer under a cute but not too thick jacket.
no.1 wide lapel jacket – no.2 quilted military bomber – no.3 mustard parka – no.4 classic trench coat – no.5 navy blazer – no.6 military coat.
CRISP: Basically when you start to shiver a bit in your layered jacket. When the air feels, well..crisp! These are a little warmer but not yet winter weight warm.
no.7 leather sleeves – no.8 mixed media bomber – no.9 quilted bomber – no.10 puffy vest – no.11 moto style jacket – no.12 cotton parka.
COLD: Winter, but not freezing cold winter – not the kind where you don’t want to leave your house. These are for late fall when the cold is beautiful and fun.
no.13 grey duffle – no.14 light puffer – n0.15 two tone cross zipper – no.16 belted wrap coat – no.17 grey menswear coat – no.18 structured with fur collar.
I personally usually have a coat that can be layered (crisp section) and a coat that keeps me warm (cold section) for fall.
Which is your favorite? This was totally accidental but it’s funny to see the colors get darker as the coats get thicker and warmer.

Love the gray belted wrap coat. It’s suddenly freezing here as well so I’m definitely on the lookout for a warm coat!

I love the mustard anorak (have it in army green from last year), navy blazer, and the zip across coat! That’s pretty much all I need in my climate.

I love #17. So many of them I love! These are great. When it gets colder I’d love to see a post on maternity winter coats (or non-maternity that could work while pregnant). I’m due in January and have no idea what will get me through nov/dec/jan. Thanks!

I’m so jealous right now. SoCal is in the midst of 100+ degree heat wave. We won’t even feel like its fall till November. But cute jackets!!!

So cute! This will be a tough fall for me, fashion wise, since finding a maternity version of this cuteness is tough, especially when checking price tags.
