Hello everyone!

I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Hellobee community as Mrs. Schoolbus! I have been a reader since its inception, so becoming a blogger is truly a dream come true!

Mr. Schoolbus and I have a daughter who just turned 2 in May. Terrible Twos haven’t been THAT terrible (yet) but it’s just beginning so hopefully I won’t be eating my words! Our daughter is a pretty easy-going, sweet, loving girl who’s always been a good sleeper and a relatively good eater. She is the greatest joy in our lives and we are so thankful for her!

Although we wanted kids, we also wanted some time to ourselves after getting married so we waited about a year before we really started TTC. In a perfect world, you’d get pregnant when you want to and there would be no hiccups, but our world is not perfect. After a bumpy road filled with some heartache, we welcomed our daughter in May 2013 and couldn’t be happier. I think being an “older” mom (advanced maternal age anyone?) and having gone through miscarriages has helped me to really appreciate and love my daughter.

Mr. Schoolbus and I have been married for 6 years, but we knew each other for over 10 years before dating. We went to the same church but never really talked. He’s actually 4 years my junior. Yes, I’m a cougar. We started talking one day and hanging out and we just clicked! The rest is history.

Prior to becoming a mom, I was an elementary school teacher for 14 years. Most of my career was spent teaching first grade. I loved teaching but left to stay home with my daughter and I don’t regret it one bit! Mr. Schoolbus owns his own consulting company and is in the Information Technology sector. In another lifetime, he would have owned a coffee shop or BBQ Smokehouse– two things that are near and dear to his heart.

Why a school bus?  Well, I thought it was only fitting since I used to be a teacher that I choose a bus! Back when I was working, we would take a school bus to go on field trips. I’d like to think of this bus as a vehicle that will take all of you along with me on little adventures.

I hope to share about my journey to motherhood as an older mom especially since we are hoping to add to our brood despite being 40! I love diy, crafts, makeup, skincare, food, shopping and trying out new products. I’m so excited to be here and to share with this awesome community!
