I’m not usually prone to drama, but let me tell you – you’ll never want to eat another chicken biscuit sandwich after you eat these. I promise. They’re going to change your life.
This is a recipe that Mr. Garland came up with one night when we both were craving Chick-Fil-A but didn’t want to go get it. He whipped up an amazing homemade honey mustard that is better than any restaurant I’ve tried, and the chicken is perfectly crispy and moist. I can’t get enough of these!

For sandwiches:
– 1-2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (we were able to make 5 sandwiches with one very large chicken breast)
– About 1/2 cup of flour
– Salt/Pepper to taste
– Approximately 1/2 cup of oil, for cooking
– Grand’s Southern-Style biscuits – one per sandwich (I can’t recommend any other brand because I refuse to buy anything else. These are the best!)
For honey mustard:
– 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
– 2 tablespoons of yellow mustard
– 2 tablespoons of dijon mustard
– 2 tablespoons of honey
– 1 tablespoon of whole-grain mustard

– Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
– Put biscuits in oven – make sure they’re touching while they cook. I usually go ahead and put them in while the oven preheats!
– Pound your chicken breasts to about 1/4″ thickness.
– Cut the chicken into pieces slightly larger than the size of a biscuit. I can usually get about 3 or 4 pieces from a breast, more if it’s extra large. Dredge in the flour.
– Add oil to a stainless steel pan (whatever kind you like to fry with), turn to medium-high heat.. I use just enough to cover the bottom of the pan.
– Once oil is heated, add chicken pieces. Cook 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
– After cooking chicken, set aside for a few moments while you make the honey mustard.
Making the honey mustard:
– Mix together everything but the whole grain mustard in a small container (we use a small mason jar).
– Stir vigorously until everything is mixed together.
– Add in whole grain mustard last and mix together – your honey mustard should be about the consistency of ranch dressing.
– Your biscuits should be done by now (approximately 20-25 minutes). Take them out and put your sandwiches together!
We typically just eat these by themselves, but they’d be delicious with a side salad or some veggies. If you like your honey mustard extra spicy, Mr. Garland says that adding some Sriracha would be delicious!

@MRSJX3: Whoops! I totally left that out! It should be updated now. You dredge the chicken in the flour before you cook it so it gets nice and crispy.

I have 1 chicken breast leftover and was wondering what the heck i was going to do with it! Problem solved!!
Is the whole grain mustard imperative? Debating if I need to pick it up or do without?

I think it adds a lot of flavor, but it’s definitely not imperative! We’ve made the honey mustard without it, and it’s still delicious.
