When I found out I was having a boy, I waved goodbye to the cute headbands with flowers and girly summer dresses I had saved in case I had a girl. From that perspective, I was a bit bummed since little girl things are just so adorable! However, once I knew I was having a boy, I started paying attention to all the little boys scampering around and checking out the boys’ section at stores. Then I realized — boys have super cute things, too! I feel like people have the false impression, like I did, that boys don’t have as cute of clothes as girls. So untrue! There are some pretty dang adorable things out there for little dudes.
That said, I don’t think they are as easy to find. It seems that the boys’ section at stores is smaller. It’s definitely the case when they get older. Mr. Macaron is always commenting how stores have tons of women clothing, and then in the way back of the store, tucked away in the corner, is the men’s section. But I don’t let this deter me from finding adorable little things for Petit Macaron.
I’ve been pinning (on Pinterest), adding to wishlists (on store sites), and favoriting (on Etsy) some pretty fun boys’ clothes and I thought I’d share.
Pretty Fly For A Small Fry – Little boys in raglan tops are the best. I thought this little phrase was super fun. This would work well for the upcoming fall season with a pair of jeans.
Doggie Skateboarding Graphic Tee – This is from Tea Collection, which I think has the best clothing (although a bit more pricey). Petit Macaron’s grandma splurged on a few tops and shorts for 3-6 months, and they were so adorable. He was able to wear them for a good while, so they got some good use!
Yeah! Tea with Yellow Coat & Sneakers – Zara has some cute baby clothes. Not every store has a baby section, so check before you go if you’re making a special trip for it. I was a bit surprised at the prices as I went in expecting them to be lower, but they do have cute stuff for an occasional purchase. Some of the jackets they have right now are pretty darn cute (I should count how many times I say cute in this post – ha!).
Cardigan Outfit with Bow Tie – This little outfit is darling. I actually purchased it and had Petit Macaron wear it to a friend’s wedding. He looked so dapper and all the ladies were swooning. This was definitely a good Etsy find (not a regr-Etsy!).
Baby Where the Wild Things Are Onesie – I learned about Out of Print Clothing from a small Seattle bookstore where they sold some of the tees for adults. These are so fun…for adults, too!
The Snuggle is Real – Oh man, I want to get this for Petit Macaron so bad! It’s a fun play on words with the popular phrase, “the struggle is real.” I often send Mr. Macaron texts on hard days saying, #thestruggleisreal and #strugglebus, so I need this shirt.
Best Kid Ever Tee with Jeans – Old Navy is great for baby clothing as it’s super affordable and good looking at the same time. I think I’ll be shopping Old Navy a lot moving forward.
Flat Cap – Another store I was surprised to see have baby clothing was H&M. Unlike Zara, H&M clothing is more affordable. There are darling things here, but I love this flat cap. Mr. Macaron has a hat like this, so I can just picture the two of them wearing the hats together.
One Tee – I’m totally getting this for Petit Macaron’s first birthday. Love, love, love it.
Wild & Free Onesie – This was a gift from my sister for Petit Macaron and it was adorable. I think it’s baby hip and fun.
One. Tee – Oh gosh, or maybe I’ll get Petit Macaron this shirt for his first birthday. Ahh, I’ll have to decide between the two tees…or, maybe I just get both!
. . . . .
I hope this convinces you that boys’ clothing is cute, too!

These are all so cute! I have a hard time finding cute clothes for my boy; I definitely buy stuff from the girls’ section too.

Super cute. I have one of each and I describe dressing a boy as being a vegetarian at a pizza party. There are absolutely delicious options but while everyone gets to have cheese pizza, some folks (baby girls) also have a myriad of other options.

I always assumed I would spend so much more money on clothes for my girl. False. What I’m finding is that girl stuff is cute no matter where it’s from. But for boys, I only like the expensive stuff like Ralph Lauren or smocked/applique clothes. So there’s cute stuff for boys, but it’s not particularly affordable. I can’t stand the cheap shirts at target that say stupid stuff like “daddy’s wingman”.

I got my DS the “one” shirt (actually uno cause we had a fiesta for his birthday last year) and also got him a two shirt from the same etsy store! They are so soft and held up really well!

@psw27: Oh, good to know!! Sometimes you just don’t know with Etsy. I usually have success by watching the ratings, but I like to hear of Etsy success finds!

@Truth Bombs: I always seem to like the most expensive item in the store. I totally agree – the cute boy stuff ain’t cheap!

As a fellow boy mama I love this so much! Old Navy is a favorite place to shop of mine too. And I love that the snuggle is real onesie!
