I absolutely love putting together spaces in our home, making them our own. We like to make a lot of our own pieces, while keeping things fairly minimal. Mr. M was pretty adamant that I wasn’t to “go crazy” with the nursery, which was a challenge that I embraced.
We live in a three bedroom small-side home and had one of two rooms to choose for the nursery. In the end, we actually chose the smallest room in the house. Our home is on the older side and since Canadian winters are no joke, we chose the bedroom with the newest windows and only one exterior wall. The space was in need of a paint job, new curtains and a dresser. The crib and chair were given to us and from there, we had a few art projects that I wanted to do and Mr. M made the shelves. We wanted the space to inspire the outdoors, be neutral and reflect our lifestyle.
The photo collage features Mr. M’s photography
In the end, I think we achieved a great starting point for this space. We’re excited to see it evolve over time and grow with our little one.

So lovely! I especially enjoy the photo collage, that’s very sweet that it has his pictures. And your change station looks great.

What is the quilt/fabric hanging over the crib? We have a forest themed nursery as well and I love that!

Looks beautiful! But the first thing I noticed is that your baby will be grabbing those photos as soon as s/he can sit up in the crib …… ! Lol. Guess you could always take them down when the time comes.

@wrkbrk: ha, yes! That was actually my first thought as well, since we didn’t really account for how much the bottom row of pictures would hang down. It was kind of annoying to put up so it was one of those, worry about it when the time comes things. Thankfully the mattress lowers quite a bit in the crib too
@nellywm: Thank you!

@tequiero21: thank you so much! It was a very affordable project – the Umbra hanger (linked above) was around $20, and the printing of the photos was also affordable! Sticky9 has lots of promotions
