Are you expecting a new little one? Or are you expecting to be expecting soon? These printables are here to help you document the time and get a visual for how your baby is growing… by looking at fruits and veggies!
This is probably an idea you’ve seen before, as it shows up on a few websites, in magazines, and even as apps. But these fruits and veggies are a little bit kawaii (or super cute!), and they’ll surely bring smiles as your soon-to-arrive bundle of joy is growing.
Starting at week four and going through week 40, there is a common food that can help you understand how much baby is growing. There are different fruits and vegetables that get used in this type of list, and they have some overlap as well as some discrepancies. So these are a blend of a few of the expert’s lists.
The large signs are perfect for taking weekly photos of your growing belly. You can start as early as you want and use them as often as you want. For example, you might only want to use one every other week.
In addition to the signs, there’s also a download for journal cards. These are sized to work with Project Life, but they are also a fun addition to the pages of a pregnancy journal. Again, it’s just fun to see the progress and have a familiar object to compare baby’s size.
A few of the foods might seem a little strange to use when comparing a baby, especially when the shape of the food jumps a bit. For example, growing from a mango to a banana or romaine lettuce to a winter melon. Just remember that these are a basic size reference, not a shape reference.
You might feel like you’re carrying a giant melon around with you, but when that baby arrives, it will look teeny compared to a melon!
Download the PDF files below, then print them on card stock. The pages of signs can be cut in half on the line, and the journal cards should be trimmed right around the border.
