We battled some brutal jet lag in the US and are battling it again now that we’re back in the Philippines. All of us keep waking up in the middle of the night!
Though we had a great time visiting Los Angeles, we had some unfortunate things happen to us on our way back home. The last leg of our flight was canceled so we had to spend two nights in the country capital, the airline offered us a free hotel four hours away (which we declined), the airbnb we had to book last minute was double booked when we arrived, Charlie lost his kindle on the plane, and one of our bags got “lost.” After the many steps it took to get the bag back, a ton of stuff had been stolen from it! Oh and I was alone with the kids. We’ve never had so many things go wrong at once while traveling, but we just feel lucky to finally be home safe and sound!
Here are some parenting links from around the web this week to kick off your week! PS – Just 8 more days until Halloween!

Thank you for these links, as always! So sorry to hear about your travel nightmare – will the airline reimburse you for what was stolen? Surely they are insured for this purpose?

Sorry about the travel woes. My mom had a newly purchased handbag stolen out of her suitcase at JFK years ago. The airline did fully reimburse us. I was pleasantly surprised! I hope you get some money back at least.

I can’t wait for my kids to have Scholastic Book Fairs. I purchased all three books she mentioned as being linked to for her personally at book fairs at my elementary school!
