Snowy’s birthday is just a few weeks after Christmas. This year, it’ll be simple to tell everyone what Snowy wants: anything dinosaurs and arts and crafts.

I wrote about all sorts of gifts for a dinosaur loving girl this holiday season, but this post focuses solely on dinosaur craft kits because there are so many great ones out there! These crafts would be great for any kid, girl or boy, from preschool age to early elementary, who loves both dinosaurs and arts and crafts. And of course, they will work equally well for the upcoming winter holidays as they do for birthdays.

1) Dab and Dot Markers Dinosaur Craft Kit.

As an educator who used to be a preschool teacher, I love dab and dot markers for the preschool/early elementary age group. This kit offers so many different mediums for creativity, both open ended and more guided. And Snowy is just starting to really get into using stencils: they have a bunch at her school, and she loves them.

2) Melissa and Doug Solid Resin Dinosaur Painting Craft Kit.

Painting is one of Snowy’s favorite arts and crafts right now, and she also loves collecting little knick knacks and figures. She would have so much fun with this!

3) Modeling Clay Dinosaur Kit.

I think this is one of the coolest kits I found! I love that you can see a realistic skeleton and cover it with clay, thus helping young children draw connections between dinosaur skeletons they see in museums, etc. and the actual dinos that once roamed the Earth.

4) Play-Doh Rex the Chomper.

Snowy loves play-doh. She loves using various tools, molds, and other gadgets they create for play-doh. I imagine this would be one of her favorites: dinosaurs plus Play-Doh!

5) Play-Doh Dino Tools.

Another cool set with tools that are all used in different ways. I like how these tools teach different fine motor skills and how they each offer different ways for a child to be creative and manipulate the playdoh. Plus, how adorable are the tiny colorful dinosaurs? For my dino loving girl, this is huge, because she loves “cutesy” and colorful things and a lot of dinosaur toys aren’t this way.

6) Perler Beads Dinosaur Arts and Crafts Bucket.

I remember many, many hours playing with Perler beads as a child. This is a kit she would need help with, especially at first, but she’s really into beading necklaces and bracelets so once she got the hang of putting the tiny beads on the trays, I think she would really enjoy it (obviously a parent is required for applying an iron to fuse them!). Plus this is another kit that is awesome for building fine motor skills.

7) Melissa & Doug Wooden Stamp Dinosaur Set.

These stamps are so detailed and realistic! I love the variety of the 8 stamps in the different kinds of dinosaurs.

8) PetitCollage Pop Out and Build Dinosaur Play Set.

Our advent calendar last year was this kind of pop out. This kit is cool because it encourages lots of pretend play with the little figures once assembled! Although the scale of that little volcano is kind of funny.

9) CoolSand 3D Sandbox-Dino Discovery Edition

Snowy loves playing in sand, and told me she wanted some kinetic sand. This self contained kit would be perfect for lots of creative play!

10) Drawing Stencils Kit

More stencils, in a great kit for travel. Snowy would love all the choices: not just dinosaurs but lots of other stencils as well!

11) Dinosaurs Finger Printing Craft Kit

The dinosaurs created on this are so cute! It might be better for an older child, but with help a 5-year-old could definitely make some cute dinosaurs of their own creation with it.

12) Smithsonian Diggin’ Up Dinos T-Rex

Lastly, this kit is encouraged for ages 8+, so a 5 year old would need lots of help with it, but it was just too cool not to include! I can imagine Snowy and her dad having a ton of fun doing this together.

Any other dinosaur loving crafty kids out there? What gifts do you recommend for them?
