Please welcome the newest mama to join the hive, Mrs. Sunglasses (formerly known as blushink!)

Bonjour Hive!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to join Hellobee as the newest bee. I’m Mrs. Sunglasses, aka proud mama of two. I have a son, Mavrick who just turned two and a 2 month old baby girl named Sienna.

I’m from Montreal, Quebec, Canada which makes me, I believe, the first Canadian Bee. Whoot Whoot! Canada represent. Seeing as I was born and raised in the province of Quebec, that makes me perfectly bilingual, so I might be using some french along the way!

Mr. Sunglasses and I have been together over 8 years and got married in June 2008, after a 3.5 year long engagement. Since our wedding, life has been filled with many new adventures. We purchased our first home the year after our wedding in the suburbs of Montreal. That same year, I found out I was pregnant with my first, and not even two years later gave birth to our second. Eventful is what I like to call it.

When I’m not at home being a mama, I work as a full time graphic designer. I’m a pretty creative person so when I’m not designing, I’m either crafting, blogging, party planning or baking, and that’s without counting all the tweeting/facebooking and instagramming. Clearly I have my iPhone or iPad glued to my hand.

Mr. Sunglasses is a full time nurse. When he’s not working, you can catch him playing on his guitar or composing. It’s no surprise that’s he’s looking forward to teaching our kids music.  Apart for his love for music, he’s an avid Superman and hockey memorabilia collector. If only you saw my house. Sigh.

Why Sunglasses? Well, apart from it being my ultimate fashion accessory (I actually never leave the house without them, rain or shine), they are heart sunglasses and I see it as representing my two sweethearts, my babies. Clearly that also implies that the baby making shop is closed. We’ve always wanted a family of 4 (ideally with a boy and a girl), and we got just that. Yay! But that doesn’t make it any less interesting.

Parenthood has been quite eventful thus far, and I can’t wait to share our story with you (that and all the fun design stuff ). Sometimes I still can’t believe I have two kids 22 months apart… I have a feeling this is JUST the tip of the iceberg and I have no idea what is coming our way! But isn’t that parenthood?
