I wake up most mornings like this.

I hate putting my hair up in a messy bun because it always falls out, and I hate seeing my precious post-partum hair falling out. Since I previously talked about some gentle hairstyling ways to help with post-partum hairloss, I thought I’d share one of my go-to hairstyles. It’s not the prettiest and it’s not the easiest, but it is my favorite because it keeps every single piece of hair out of my face and is gentle enough to prevent tugging at your roots.

You can also spray a little bit of hairspray on the top of your hair if you wish, and add water on your fingers to help create a less hairy look.

Step 1: French braid your hair. If you don’t know how to do this, here’s a great tutorial video. I have about a million flyaway hairs so this is as clean as it gets! The ends don’t need to be perfect because you’ll be tucking it in.

Step 2: Fold braid in half and tie with another hair tie.

Step 3: Curl the folded part and tuck it neatly in the hole at the back of your neck with a clip or another tie. You can customize how tight you want this part.

Just super clean and out of your face.

Because this hairstyle is so simple, I like to dress it up with nice sunglasses and a cute scarf. A cute scarf really goes a long way no matter what your hair looks like! Even though it’s such an easy hairstyle, I get compliments on it all the time! I love it because there are no strays, no re-doing my hair 30x throughout the day and it’s babyproof. I always do a very loose French braid so that my roots aren’t being tugged. It’s more gentle than a high ponytail, which is my other go-to hairstyle. But my #1 reason why I like this is because it stays put and I can do my 99,999 things on my list without having to think about it.
