Hello! I am so happy and honored to be one of the newest bloggers on Hellobee as Mrs. Pizza. I’ve been reading the blog since I was pregnant with my first, obsessively looking at all the guides, trying to prepare myself for parenthood. It’s pretty exciting that now I can share my experiences with the Hellobee community, as I figure out how to juggle my everyday with a toddler and a newborn. Mr. Pizza and I have two girls, Joyful who is 2.5 years old and Gracie who is approaching 3 months old. I am so excited to soon be out of the “fourth trimester” as the newborn stage has always been a challenge for me.
Mr. Pizza and I met our senior year in high school and got married nine years later in 2010. I know it sounds like a long time, but we were young and weren’t in a rush to get married. And now, we are celebrating our 5th anniversary! Mr. Pizza is the youngest of six kids and has five sisters (yes, you read that correctly) who all have kids of their own, so our kids were the 15th and 17th grandchildren on his side of the family. I am also the youngest and have two older sisters, but was the first to have kids so they are the 1st and 2nd grandchildren on my side of the family (with the third grandchild born about a month ago). You can imagine the difference in our family get togethers!
Prior to having kids, I worked full time as a child life specialist which I absolutely loved. As a child life specialist, I worked in the hospital with children and their families to help them cope with hospitalization and illness. When Joyful was born, I returned to work part time but when I became pregnant again, I transitioned to be a SAHM. It was definitely an adjustment and even a struggle at times, especially having a job I enjoyed for nine years, but now I have embraced being a SAHM (well at least most days!).
Mr. Pizza is a scientist and has always loved kids and is great with kids of all ages. I still remember when we were dating, he would always tell me he wanted 199 children! Having two young kids keep us busy and tired, but we are thankful for our beautiful girls and the gift it is to be their parents!
Through blogging, some of the things I hope to share with you is my life as a mom of two little ones, surviving the first three months postpartum, difficulties with breastfeeding, and the transition from working to being a SAHM. With my experience as a child life specialist, I also hope to share some thoughts about preparing a child for a medical experience, such as surgery or a medical procedure.
Finally, why pizza? Um, I just really like pizza. A lot. But other than my love for pizza and eating a whole lot of it lately, I thought I would represent Chicago with the pizza icon!
I am so thankful to be a part of the Hellobee community!

@mrs.kiwi: haha Mrs. Kiwi, there are definitely pros and cons to us both being the youngest. I would like to think I am more relaxed and flexible but it definitely doesn’t come out naturally. I’m trying to work on it more with my second. As for the impact on 5 sisters for Mr. Pizza…he definitely is more sensitive, sentimental, and understanding
