As a new mom, my Amazon Prime account has been incredibly active! With so many baby products to buy, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as when you get a good deal on an item. That’s why the Amazon price history tracker, Tracktor, is my favorite geeky tip (and free!) that you need to know about. The Tracktor will show you an item’s price history and allow you to easily set up an alert for when that item’s price drops. It’s simple to set up and works seamlessly!
Overview:
The Tracktor is a web extension that displays a price history chart directly in your Amazon site.
* Once you hit download, you will be prompted to add the extension.
* Try it!
Open Amazon and search for a product. Set up an alert for when the price drops to your desired amount and hit “Track this item.” Tracktor lets you sign in with your Amazon account so there is no need to create a separate account. Once your tracked item drops to your specified price, you will receive an email notification. It’s that easy!
My Buys. As long as you aren’t in a hurry to get an item, set the price that you want to pay and wait until it drops! Here are a couple of items that dropped in price and the email notifications that I received.

@regberadaisy: I also use this IFTTT recipe (https://ifttt.com/recipes/1110-send-an-sms-when-a-new-gmail-is-from-a-specific-email-address) to get a text alert when a price drops because at night I like to turn off email notifications, yet I don’t want to miss a price drop!

If you don’t want to download an add-on, try paribus to track pricing after purchases- paribus.co – you have to give them access to your amazon account email, but they’ll monitor the price and ping amazon for a refund

Trying this now! looks like it doesn’t display all products. So far, I went to 5 products, and it displayed 2 out of the 5. the other 3 i had to go directly to its site and search. Does that happen to you?
I tried camelcamelcamel before…and did not like it. the websites look too busy and i wanted something simple looking, and also it wasn’t accurate. I’ve been using this for a while: http://onlinepricealert.com/create

@Snowybreeze: Occasionally I come across products that don’t have price history data available, but I’ve never tried going to the tracktor site to see if the data is available there. But those instances are rare and usually involve items being sold by third party sellers.
I’m not sure what the issue is. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
Also, I agree that camelcamelcamel is too busy looking!

@Mrs. Ice Cream: actually the other way around…well at least the ones I clicked on so far, ones from third party sellers have the tracking but not the ones sold by Amazon. Another thing I observed is that the tracker won’t display the ones with multiple options (e.g. packs of 2, colors, patterns).

If it continues to be this way…then it’s not that helpful. Earlier when i first added on the extension it didn’t work until I restarted the browser. I’ll restart my computer later to see if that helps.

@Snowybreeze: I’m sorry the extension is being so finicky! I’ve been using it for years and my only complaint is the price history information doesn’t show up on my mobile devices. I’ve used Tracktor in Safari and Chrome, but I’ve never tried it in Firefox.
