This past weekend my amazing friends and family threw the most beautiful shower in honour of this incoming Peep. The same ladies that through me an incredible Friends-themed bridal shower last year, pulled it off again.

The shower actually ended up being hosted at our home. After struggling to find a suitable location, I said I was open to it being at our own house, which worked out very well in the end. It meant less work after transporting gifts, and clean-up was going to be needed wherever it was hosted! We had a nice outdoor area planned, however, Mother Nature decided to take the term shower seriously, and rather than utilizing the rented tents, table and chairs, everyone decided to squeeze into the house for most of the day!

The ladies went for a bit of a woodland shower theme. They wanted to go for a vibe similar to our wedding and included some really sweet forest friend details and decor.

I was so touched that my cousin arranged for this sweet little cake to be made! It was delicious!

There was a nice balance of activities along with opening of the sweet gifts this little soul was blessed to receive. Prior to gifts, everyone mingled, ate delicious food and an activity table was set up to tie-dye onesies. This was a big hit, and they all turned out so well!

Afterwards, everyone gathered around to watch me open gifts. During the gift opening, guests played Bingo. Everyone was given a blank sheet to fill out with gifts they thought the baby would receive, and the first with a line won a prize.

In lieu of cards, guests were asked to bring books to help build the baby’s library, which was so wonderful! We received over forty books, with shockingly no repeats! I never quite know what to do with cards after an event like this, so it was a wonderful, practical alternative.

After opening gifts, they played one more activity – “Daddy or Mommy?” where guests would guess whether a fun fact was about me or Mr. M.

Guests were sent home with Stovetop Potpourri that my friend Mel put together for everyone – we’ve been enjoying the lime, thyme and vanilla scent in our house all week!

I put together a special little thank-you gift of succulents for all of the ladies that planned such a wonderful day for me and our little one.

We spent the remainder of the weekend doing laundry and organizing the nursery. We’re nearly ready now for this babe to arrive… just a few more things to gather and some growing left to do!
