Hello again everyone! I have been pretty MIA from the blog for a while because life has been pretty insane for us. We have some big changes coming up for our family, and I hope to be blogging a whole lot more again!
May is Foster Care Awareness Month, so it seems like the perfect time to let you all know that Mr. Lion and I have begun the process of becoming licensed foster parents! We completed our classes and paperwork this month, and next up is the home study. It is a long process, but we are excited to begin welcoming kiddos into our home when our license is complete!
Because of this, and for many other reasons, I have decided to leave my full time job and once again be a stay at home mom. I have blogged about deciding to go back to work a few times, and this change of course has not come about without a lot of thought. Little Lion continues to struggle with full time daycare (more on that in another post) and right now this is the best thing for us all. We should be moving into the new home we have been building in about a month, and after all the changes and upheaval of our lives in the last 3 years, a break will be good for us all. If I have learned anything as a mom it is that there is no perfect decision, and sometimes things don’t go the way you plan. We are rolling with whatever comes and adjusting as we go.
Little Lion and Baby Lion are 4 and 2 now, and have gotten just old enough that they are starting to play together in a way that requires a little less adult interference. We are loving watching their relationship develop and seeing how they are growing more into their own individual personalities.
We are excited about the next chapter for our family, and I am looking forward to sharing more about the activities that fill our time as I re-enter the world of being a SAHM, and our adventure into foster parenting!

I love that you are doing this. And also, Baby Lion looks so much like you. I can’t believe how big she is now!

Good luck! If you have any home study questions let me know! It wasn’t as scary as I expected it to be. I’d love to hear more about the house building process. Eventually when my husband and I move we want to purchase land and build a home.

I’ve unearthed my profile to say hello and see if you’re open to questions about your fostering journey so far? We are just beginning to look at agencies and get our ducks in a row to get licensed and it’s so helpful to talk to families working on the same thing. Happy to wall over my email or something too
