The iPad inventions continue to amaze me! I thought it would be great to share some of my favorite iPad games that continue to keep Baby Pencil and Cousin Pencil entertained.

1.) Curious World $7.99 per month

This is the only subscription I have for Baby Pencil and I still think it’s worth it! It comes with SO much material. There are interactive games like finger painting, pizza making and puzzles. There are also educational videos that continually get updated and added. The videos are about people’s different jobs (being a baker, being a painter) and also musical videos in different languages. If you are a fan of Super Simple Learning from Youtube, they have some of their songs on here. You have tons of options to choose from and even the most impatient kid will be able to find something he or she likes!

2.) Cricket Kids: Opposites  $0.99

This is a really cute app that teaches kids the opposite of things. Each “stage” is a different room and concentrates on a different type of opposite. For example, you shake the iPad to make a room messy and you have to clean it up by putting away the clothes, books and etc.

3.) Montessorium: Intro to Colors  $4.99

This is a really classy, clean looking app that works with colors. There are sections that are much easier, such as matching primary colors, but there are also more difficult levels such as lining up shades of the same color according to their gradience. I’ve had this app for about a year and Baby Pencil still seems to be interested! There aren’t many stages of the game, but there are definitely lots of shades to go through!

4.) Shape Gurus $1.99

This is a great game for recognizing shapes and sizes. There’s a lot of grouping together the shapes but also making good judgment on where they go according to their size. Some sizes are so similar, even I have difficulty correctly putting them in the right cut-outs! There’s a storyline that makes each scene somewhat transition well into the next phase. The quality of each stage, diversity of using the shapes and even the cute “thinking” music makes me a huge fan of this app!

5.) Toca Band $2.99

This is an adorable app that turns really annoying fast (for adults), but the kids love it! It’s cool how each cartoon character has their own instrument or voice. They pick and choose each character to get on stage and it all comes together in a song.

6.) Sago Mini Forest Flyer $2.99

This is a very simple idea but really good for kids who like a freestyle, go with the flow type of activity. You basically fly the bird on a journey and make interactions as you go. The animation for Sago series apps are just really adorable all around, so you really can’t go wrong with any of their apps.

7.) Endless Alphabet & Numbers (Free to $14.99 depending on how big you want the range.)

I have to mention these apps even though I know they are well mentioned and popular. But I have to say that I’m impressed that Baby Pencil still plays with these! This is how he learned his letters, sounds and how to say certain words from a very early age. I purchased the biggest package for Endless Numbers ($14.99!) because I think it’s worth the investment if it can make math easier for Baby Pencil. These apps have stood the test of time so I think it’s worth spending the money on them!
