I’m lazy when it comes to skincare, but I’m consistent about my 3 step routine, and it’s been working well for me the past couple of years. I wash my face with Dove Sensitive Skin soap, the same soap I use on my body and that my kids use. Then I exfoliate my face while in the shower. I’ve talked about my love of Ole Hendriksen’s Pore-Balance Facial Sauna before, but it’s pricey. So lately I’ve been using Era Organics Facial Scrub, which is less than half the price for much more quantity. It’s made of all organic ingredients including manuka honey, aloe vera, and walnut shell powder, and gets your skin clean and soft without being rough.
I’ve been exfoliating my entire life, but I’ve only recently added Vitamin C serum to my skincare routine, and I’ve definitely noticed a difference since I started using it. Vitamin C is supposed to make your skin brighter, and help with hyperpigmentation and aging. I’ve been using this one from Truskin which has hyaluronic acid, vitamin e, jojoba and aloe.
I’ve been using essence as a moisturizer for many years. It’s a Korean product typically applied before moisturizer, but I just use it as a stand alone moisturizer. Living in tropical humid weather, essence alone is enough to moisturize my normal to dry skin. I’ve been using Nature Republic’s Ginseng Gold Silk Essence, and I had no idea how pricey it was until I wrote this post because my mom gifted me my last two bottles. It is so luxurious and absorbs so well without leaving your skin feeling greasy. But there are many fabulous essence products at all price points.
What does your skincare routine look like? Any products you swear by?

I’ve gotten into skincare recently (long overdue) after some microneedleing sessions.
I use Melano CC Anti Spot Essence (Vitamin C) + Ambi Fade Cream + Garnier BB Cream/spf in the am and Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair (Retinol) + Cerave Facial Moisturizing Lotion (w/ niacinamide, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid) at night.
I’m working on getting rid of old acne scars and preventing/decreasing wrinkles.
I really like the Melano Vit C cream because it’s in a tube vs. a bottle/stopper so helps to keep it from oxidizing.
The Retinol/Cerave is a recent add so we’ll see how I like both.

I love vitamin c serum! I was using retinol which was helping with some acne scarring and brightening my skin. I’ve had to stop that though due to being pregnant. Other than that I use a cleanser, day/night cream and eye cream.

I’ve read that the vitamin C needs to be in the form of ascorbic acid. I skimped and got a cheapie instead of the SkinCeuticals my derm recommended, but I found a Dr. Brenner formula with 20% AA that I am going to try next.
