When I put together Baby Y’s nursery, budget was a major consideration. So when Mrs. Bee floated the idea of posting about our dream nursery, I thought it would be a blast. Funnily enough, it was harder than I expected. When money is no object, choices are truly overwhelming! Talk about a true first-world problem, no?

Here are my picks for Baby Y’s posh new pad. I kept the colors the same as his current space, which I love for their cheerful, gender-neutral feel.

1) Duc Duc AJ Crib in Walnut/White, $1595– I love the clean lines and two-tone look, but the shelf really seals the deal. It would be such a sweet place for baby keepsakes and books.

2) Offi Nest Bassinet, $999 – Well this is sure an upgrade from the Fisher Price Rock ‘N’ Play! I’m drawn to the rich wood and chrome legs. Oh, and it converts into a table if anyone needs help justifying the price – ha!

3) Dwell Thompson Glider in Linen, $1290 – Unfortunately, a clean-lined glider didn’t exist at a reasonable price in the real world, but with an unlimited budget, this would be mine in a heartbeat. I love that it has a low profile without sacrificing comfort. And I would never know it was a glider, so it could go in the living room, too.

4) Duc Duc Morgan 4-Drawer Dresser in Walnut, $2800 – It certainly looks like it could stand the test of time, and the leather pulls are such an unexpected detail. Bonus – you can add a changing tray to the top! For this price, it better be multifunctional!

5) Serena and Lily Menagerie Hippo Bookends, $58 – Adorable, and I love the faux leather.

6) Oilo Modern Berries Crib Set in Green, $395 – This sweet bedding is modern and natural at the same time. I love the vibrant green, too. I actually came back to this page a few times when I was looking for bedding for Baby Y, but there was no way I could stomach the price tag – especially since I knew I’d probably only end up using the sheet. Fortunately, in my fantasy nursery, SIDS doesn’t exist!

7) Bloom Coco Plexistyle Baby Lounger in Red, $350 – As long as I get to be completely ridiculous, this thing looks awesome. I can only hope that it would feel equally awesome for baby.

8)  Z Gallerie Mimosa Lanterns, $6.95 each – Yes, paper lanterns are a nursery trend, but I don’t care. They would look great in an otherwise boring corner. Plus, they’re $6.95! Tempted to order these now…

9) Rattan Elephant Hamper in White, $47 – Shamelessly lifted from Mrs. Hide and Seek’s nursery. My husband is first generation Thai-American, and a white elephant is a sacred symbol of the Thai monarchy. I am still tempted to get this, but we already have a normal, boring, round white wicker hamper.

10) Oilo Band Pillow in Aqua, $59 – A nice little contrast in pattern and color from the bedding, and wouldn’t it look nice on my fantasy glider?

11) P’kolino Storage Ottoman in Red, $229 – This would be a fun change from our drab gray one while still offering space to stuff blankets and such. Bonus: Flip the lid around and it becomes a table.

12) Land of Nod Red Gumball Lamp, $89 – Cheerful and simple. I kinda want to start chewing on it.

13)  Bad Apple Kirby Block Toy Box in Light Blue, $200 – An homage to one of my favorite childhood toys, Legos!

14) Flensted Balloon Mobile, $47 – I never got a mobile for Baby Y’s nursery, and this one really makes me regret it. It’s cheerful and totally reminiscent of a stuffed balloon that hung in my room as a little girl (and is now hanging in Baby Y’s).

15) Layla Grace Jellybean Parade Curtains, $220 – I love how these bring all the colors together in a fun pattern without being chaotic.

16) Etsy LadandLass Animal Alphabet print, $80 – I am a sucker for a cute alphabet print.

17) Oliver Yaphe Alphabet Soup Rug, $1498 – How lovely is this? You could actually use it to teach your little one the ABC’s, and the color palette is spot on. No matter that the 6 by 9 costs as much as the Duc Duc crib …

The grand total? Only around $10,000. To quote Joey Lawrence, “Whoa.”

What would you buy for baby if the sky’s the limit?
