I am in the market for some car toys because Juliet apparently loves them. It’s funny because we don’t really have any car toys since Drake never cared for cars or vehicles and still doesn’t. One of Drake’s friends loves The Cars movies and has tons of their toys; on a playdate once I found Juliet in another room rolling a bunch on the ground by herself. Then a few days later she dug out the few cars we own from the toy chest — one remote control V-Tech car, a handful of Matchbox cars, and an old plastic one that was Mr. Chocolate’s though Drake never touched it. Juliet plays with those Matchbox cars daily and tries to figure out the remote control car all the time, so I think perhaps it’s time she have a car or two of her own.

Cars-for-Toddlers

1) Melissa and Doug Pull Back Vehicles – These look sweet and fun and I like they come in different sizes too. The faces and pictures are cute. Juliet still likes to chew on toys occasionally so the plush part is appealing for that reason, though I wonder if it makes it harder to pull back too on the softer material.

2) LEGO Duplo My First Creative Cars Building Set – Juliet is just starting to get the fine motor skills to play with Duplos. She still is learning how to stick them together as well as pull the pieces apart. The car pieces make it more enticing, and maybe will help her see how the pieces need to connect. It also seems like something Drake could play with her and teach her how to do.

3) V-Tech Remote Racer Smart Car – This is the one we have already but I thought I would include it simply because I found its hard to find larger size cars for toddler hands.  Many of the smaller car toys might become chocking hazards I realized.  Juliet plays with the car a lot even though she cant use the remote.  She does squeal when Daddy or Drakey make it move for her but she is content on pushing it and playing with the buttons on her own as well.  Overall I would say she plays with this one the most maybe because its better suited for her hands than the Matchbox ones.

4) Little Bus TAYO – I have never heard of Tayo the Little Bus before, but it is a Korean cartoon. I love the bright colors and faces on the buses. They remind me of the B Wheelie ones in style, size and price and I think Juliet might like the little faces.

5) Ikea Lillabo – I wish I lived closer to an IKEA since their prices are always great. My friend’s son has these cars and they are nice and durable. I like the simplicity of wooden toys too.

6) B Wheelie Soft Cars – I have heard good things about these cars from friends. They are soft and can be pulled back and seem to be a good size for toddler hands. I was told they are sold at Target but mine seems to be out. Amazon is much pricier for some reason so I am waiting it out for now.
