In winter it was all about throwing on a hat and basically wearing it all day to stay warm. This whole having to actually do my hair thing is still pretty foreign. But silly me… I forgot all about summer hats! Sunglasses or a sunhat (or both) are pretty much a must when you are outside all day with the kiddos. And just like in the winter, it’s nice to have a few options, as one just doesn’t always go with every outfit. Most of these sunhats are pretty classic with a hit of trend to them, so they won’t go out of style and you shouldn’t feel like you need to restock every year. Here is the big list of sunhats to protect your head and face and help you from having to do your hair!
no.1 glam floppy hat with a big bow – no.2 ny yankees baseball cap – no.3 straw boater – no.4 ikat baseball hat – no.5 straw fedora – no.6 extreme wide brim hat – no.7 felt fedora – no.8 straw bucket hat – no.9 straw visor – no.10 ribbon cloche – no.11 straw floppy hat – no.12 seersucker ball cap – no.13 denim ball cap – no.14 woven fedora – no.15 striped floppy hat
Do you have a sunhat? What is your favorite style?

My hair is totally nonconducive to hats. Both of my boys stick with baseball hats.

I like a fabric bucket hat, it’s easy to toss in the washing machine, because my head gets warm!

I like #6 and have one similar to #15.

I love most of your choices . . . but #3 and #9 (especially) don’t belong in this line up!

Love fedoras, but so many hats don’t fully block out the sun because of the brim. No cowboy hats?

I just got one exactly like #14 at Target. $9.99.

I usually wear a fedora (similar to #5 and #14 but with a little black bow) in the summer because it’s nice and lightweight.
I recently bought a floral ball cap from anthropologie and I loooove it!

Great list! I wish I could pull some of these off, but I feel like I look so awkward in hats!

No.10 is so cute (but maybe it helps that the model is there), and I love the big floppy ones like No.15!
@Mrs Checkers: I think I look really awkward in hats too! =/

I have so many hats, but for summer I love fedoras. I think it’s hard to pull of hats when you wear glasses full time though!

I NEVER wear hats, so this is a good resource of where to start when I want one! I’d love a big, floppy sun hat for the beach.

I loooove hats so I love all of them! But I must be getting older because I am veering away from the small/cute styles to more womanly and er… “older” types. And also I’m being more practical and thinking what’s going to protect me from the sun! (So #15 is my fav out of these!)

@Mrs. Chipmunk: I had a hard time finding a really great one to add to the list this time – it is a great style!

I love hats too! I tend to go with an “army style” hat made from a more delicate fabric for the summer. I can’t handle big brims!
