As soon as I found out we were having a girl, I went to my existing nursery pinterest board and began planning. I am notorious for changing my mind a million times when decorating or planning a party, so I haven’t purchased or painted anything yet, but I’m itching to get started. Here is what I think I want the room to look like, for now at least.

Benjamin Moore Whispering Peach – I’ve been drawn to a peach wall color for a long time. I thought about painting the walls white and just adding pops of color around the room, but since I want to use white furniture, I’m afraid of too much white. I love this pale peach color and I think it will warm up the room without looking too babyish.

Urban Outfitters Chevron Flip Handmade Rug – One of the first things I like to decide on is a rug. It can be one of the most expensive parts of the room and since it covers so much of the floor, everything else should go with it. I love this one from Urban Outfitters because it is bold and graphic, ties in the peach color beautifully, and can definitely grow with a child. It’s also pretty inexpensive, which is always a big plus!<

Ikea Sundvik Crib – Last year, we bought a vintage brass crib on craigs list. I really loved it at the time, but the more I think about it, the more I want something simple and white. This one from Ikea fits the bill, and is affordable, too.

Ikea Hemnes Dresser – We have this dresser in black in Liam’s room and it’s perfect changing table height. I also love the four small drawers on top for diapers and tiny baby things. We bought Liam’s used and it has held up great, so I’m hoping to buy another one used. I still use Liam’s in his room, but I might just paint it and move it and use a different dresser for him. I was also thinking about painting the drawers different colors, like this.

Anthropologie Swing Stripe Curtains – I want to embellish some plain white curtains (I’m thinking these from Ikea) and I love how these use pom pom trim in a unique way. Luckily, my mother-in-law is amazing with a sewing machine, so I might get her to help me.

Triangle Baby Quilt – I have never made a quilt before, but I would really like to try. This one doesn’t seem too complicated and I love the colors and pattern.

ABC Pillow – I made a pillow like this for Liam’s room and it was so simple. I’d like to make one for the new baby’s room, too!

Pottery Barn Kids Rissa Chandelier – Lighting is tough. It’s expensive and I’m not good at finding less expensive alternatives that still look good. This one from Pottery Barn Kids is way over our budget, but it’s so pretty! I’m hoping to find something I like at the flea market.

Swivel Glider Recliner – We will use the same gray glider (similar to the one pictured) that we used in Liam’s nursery, which I bought off craigslist and had reupholstered.

Tree Stump Side Table – We will also re-purpose the tree stump side table that was part of our living room makeover, also used in Liam’s nursery. I love it so much and can’t help moving it from room to room!

Heart Decals – Hearts are kind of my thing, so I love these mini heart wall decals. I might put them on the wall behind the crib, or I might pain the back of the door a bold color and put them all over the door.

Personalized Growth Chart – I made a growth chart like this for Liam’s room, so I will probably make a similar one for the new baby. I will either stain it a light honey color or paint it white or navy.

Navy, Mint, Peach Tassel Garland – I don’t usually like traditional mobiles, but I love the look of a tassel garland gathered together hanging above the crib (like this). This garland is in the perfect color scheme and I have heard they are easy to make.

All Good Things Are Wild + Free Print – I bought this print from my friend Brittany Garner Design last year, and I can’t wait to find a place for it in the nursery. I love the gold lettering and the quote is so perfect!

Reading Nook – Since I know I will spend quite a bit of time nursing the baby in her room, I want to create a space for Liam to hang out with me to read a book or put together a puzzle. I know, I know, what a nice little fantasy world I live in, right? Even if he doesn’t sit quietly and play or read, at least he’ll know that he has a space in her room to comfortably hang out. I have some shelves for this room that I’ve never put up, so I can use those to display toys and other treasures. I also still have the Ikea picture ledges from Liam’s room because we took them down when we  did some rearranging. I want to put a comfy place cushion or bean bag on the floor with a soft rug for both kids to use.

Urban Outfitters Magical Thinking Geo Table Lamp – I love this table lamp for some extra light in the room. It’s unique and has personality.

Bright Lab Lights – Bright Lab lights make me happy. These might not be necessary for a nursery, but I just love them so much! Maybe for the reading nook?

I can’t wait to get the room ready. I think it will make everything feel so much more real!
