GemCakes has recently shown a love for all things artsy and creative. She frequently asks us to bring out the art supply bin so she can play with the crayons, makers and stickers in there. I also bought her some Crayola Twistables so she could draw in the car when we go for long drives. When we’re outside she is the first to start chalking our patio with her latest masterpiece. This girl loves to let her creativity flow. So with that in mind, here are 35 gift-giving ideas for the creative toddler or older kid in your home!

I bought the chalk bucket and a Water Wow activity pad for the kids and we’re aiming to buy a second-hand easel for GemCakes. Has the artistic bug bitten your kid? What toys do you plan on getting them this holiday season to help cultivate their love for arts and crafts?

Fun ideas! I’m curious, how washable are the Dob and Dot markers? We’ve had one of the other brands of these (Do-a-dot, I believe) and I feel like they stain really badly. My kids love them, but they have to be a strictly supervised project material!

I love some of these ideas! My daughter loves crafts too, she’s constantly coloring or painting. We really love the crayola slick sticks, they are a tiny bit messier than crayons but way neater than paint and they have an amazing texture to draw with, it’s like coloring with lipstick.

@PinkElephant: We haven’t tried the Dab*Dot markers yet, but these are apparently washable. So hopefully that’s true!
@Cole: Haven’t heard of the slick sticks, but we’ll definitely look into that. Kinda sounds like oil pastels but for kids!
