Anthropologie recently launched a children’s line! The price points are a little rich for my blood because I’m pretty cheap when it comes to children’s clothes since they outgrow them so fast. But they do have some adorable pieces in the collection!
I need to buy some more winter clothes for Charlie, so I thought this would be a good time to compile a directory of children’s clothing shops. I shop at Gap, Old Navy, Zara, H&M, and J Crew most of the time. My mom loves to buy anything Polo. And my aunt spoils Charlie with Jacadi and Janie and Jack. Where do you like to shop for your little one? Please help us create a directory of children’s stores by adding your suggestions in the comments!

I absolutely LOVE Polarn o. Pyret (http://minipiccolini.com/2011/05/polarn-o-pyret-on-amazon/)! They have by far the best functional clothes. The quality is so good that you can definitely use everything you buy for younger siblings (no matter which gender). And when you’re through all your kids, the clothes will be in good enough condition to sell.

@mini piccolini … glad to read your enthusiasm for polarn o. pyret b/c they just opened a store near me! I’m so excited to check it out!!
I was just reading about anthro’s kids line. I guess every couple of years they come out with kids clothes near the holidays… so adorable.
to add to the list, I’d suggest dept stores like Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom’s. also consider some discount designer clothes have a wealth of kids’ clothes like Loehmann’s and Century 21.

I don’t buy anything at Anthropologie, I can’t imagine buying kids clothes there. I do love Janie and Jack’s Clearance sales. I bought my brother and a friend some sleepers from there this summer. They have such adorable clothes! I’m betting we will shop in our friends’ closets, at Target, Gap and Old Navy. I have a feeling my Mom might shop at some of the higher end shops for her grandbaby and I have no problem with that.
As for stores around here, I’m thinking about our outlet malls. Stores not on the list above:
J. Crew
Polo Ralph Lauren
Strasburg Children
OshKosh b’Gosh
Hartstrings

That is super cute! Girl clothes are just so much cuter! I get a lot of my son’s bottoms at baby gap/gap kids b/c I love their pants and shorts. Carter’s has great play clothes. Other stores include Old Navy, Gymboree (although their clothes run almost a whole size big), Nordstrom Rack, and sometimes Saks Fifth Avenue Off Fifth if I’m near there. Both Nordies and Saks outlets have reasonably priced designer clothes but the selection is very random.

Oh my gosh, these clothes are so cute! All the babies I know in real life are boys and I am just dying for someone to have a girl so I can start shopping for little dresses!

Those outfits are super adorable… I splurge once a season on something really nice for E… but the Anthro pieces are more than I would spend on my own clothes!

I’m uber-cheap when it comes to baby clothes so I get 80% of my LO’s clothing on Craigslist (eg. $50 for 100 items) and have been able to score some really nice clothes for her. Then I splurge and buy her some really nice pieces from local stores. I also pick up random pieces at Ross, Marshalls when I see cute stuff.

Holy smokes! Are those outfits stitched with gold??? They’re ADORABLE (especially that love dress and bloomers), but I don’t understand why they are so expensive!
Loving the list though! This is going to be so helpful!

Anthropolgie sure does know how to pull at my heart. Too bad I don’t have a little girl of my own to spoil (better for my wallet). I love the little mini coat. Too cute!!

my absolute favorite for shoes is flora and henri. it seems expensive, but he wears the same boots everyday in the winter time. i love the fun patterns and easy going style of eye spy baby, but it’s kind of expensive so i wait for the sales. twice a year there’s a blowout sale at my favorite shop probably in the whole world…tricofield in soho. it’s a japanese children’s shop, but it’s sooooo expensive. their cotton and elastic bands for the waist are so giving that my son can wear clothes for a solid 6 months before outgrowing them! that is an amazing feat as far as children’s clothing goes, imo.

I love shopping at Gymboree, they have the most adorable themes for each seasons. The cardigans are the best and keeps my little girl warm during the whole winter season. They also have special gymbucks deals.
Not listed Kohls – they have a great wide range of babies to toddler clothing and shoes.

I’m like @Red – eBay & rummage sales for me. I’ve gotten like-new, super cute clothing for really cheap…it’s hard to go back to the major retailers when you can score something for $1-3 a piece! Kids outgrow clothing so fast it’s often in very good condition.

Why are these kids clothes so expensive – no way am I going to spend that much money. Maybe if they have a sale…..
I’m a fan of Baby Gap, Jack and Janie, and random pickups at Target/Marshalls.

Ohh, LOVE! Especially the little coat! Maybe I can find a way to justify the price with the knowledge that it can be handed down to multiple kids…
